Seasonal work opportunity with Brendon Orchards Cooperative

Brendon Orchards Cooperative is currently seeking a new Apple Press Manager.  This role is for a self-employed person working on a 15 week service contract starting mid August (though there is some flexibility here).  The main task is to manage the hiring out of apple pressing equipment 7 days a week. In the peak season there can be up to 21 hires in a week.  This involves taking bookings online using our database and laptop and then arranging and managing the pick-ups and returns, which normally happen early evenings and are arranged directly with our customers and it will be up to the Manager to arrange times so there is considerable flexibility.

The work could be shared (though one person will need to be responsible for how the work is carried out).  All the hires take place at the Greenhouse, Golden Hill, Wiveliscombe, so living near there will be essential.

Remuneration is £17 per hire (which usually takes about an hour) with a guaranteed minimum of £85 per week (5 hire equivalents). Full training in all aspects of the work will, of course, be given.

Do look at our website Brendon Orchards Cooperative to see more about our aims and activities.  We are a very friendly and supportive organisation!

If you are interested – or know of someone who is – then please email Dave at communityapplepress@gmail.com .  We can then send out a full Task Description and Application Form which should be returned by Monday 3 July.  Interviews will take place within the following two weeks.

Please come and visit us in the square on Monday

Please come and visit our gazebo in the square – where we’ll be all day. Have a look at how we can pick up people who have fallen [using specialised equipment], learn how to do CPR and use a defib/ AED machine or get a blood pressure check – all for free and no appointment necessary! We are here to support our community so, come and learn what we do.
